July 2022, Volunteer of the Month

We are pleased to announce Kathleen Jones, LMHCA is the MHAM Volunteer of the Month!

Kathleen is a volunteer with MHAM’s Pro Bono Counseling Project (PBCP). The PBCP
connects individuals, couples, and families who are uninsured, underinsured, and unable to
afford the cost of mental health treatment with a volunteer, licensed, and insured mental
health clinician. Volunteer clinicians provide short term counseling at no cost to the client.

Kathleen is grateful that a program like the Pro Bono Counseling Project exists for Hoosiers
who need counseling but don't have the economic means. “Working with PBCP means that
I can plug into a process where I reflect monthly on my client's progress and also receive
qualitative feedback from my client via the PBCP program coordinator.”

Kathleen earned her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University in
Colorado and has been working as an intern and a counselor for two years. She primarily
works with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and relationship conflicts.
In addition, she enjoys working with teenagers and young adults as they manage the
challenging transition into adulthood.

Kathleen lives in Goshen, IN with her spouse and two daughters, ages 10 and 13. In her
spare time, Kathleen loves to read, cook, and do most anything outdoors.

Thank you, Kathleen, for your commitment to improving access to mental health care!
