Offering Hope, Reducing Stigma, and Supporting Individuals with Serious Mental illness
The free 2024 Fall Summit will focus on the day-to-day realities of people living with serious mental illness. This Summit will focus on the day to day realities expressed by individuals with lived experience and will highlight a few necessary components that individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) need to achieve a higher quality of life. Join us for a series of discussions and resource opportunities aimed at fostering hope, reducing stigma, and supporting individuals with serious mental illness.
Keynote Speaker – Tamara McCoy (Licensed Behavioral Health Professional) and Lynn Gard
Panel 1 SUPPORT – Mary Bales, Ph.D. (Oaklawn Psychiatric Center), Theresa Olson & Jennifer Weldy (Clubhouse) and Theresa Jongkind (vocational rehab) will discuss the importance of socialization and a supportive community, housing, and employment.
Panel 2 TREATMENT – Janice Nichols (Bowen Health), Sheila McCarthy (Motels 4Now) and Henry Mudari (St. Joseph County Police Dept.) will focus on a few innovative treatment modalities that are increasing access to individuals with SMI.
Resource tables will be available to learn about community organizations who’s services reach individuals and families with SMI.
