Mental Health Awareness of Michiana (MHAM) is pleased to announce our upcoming 2026 Perinatal Symposium, titled “Healing from the Start: Rethinking Perinatal Care Through Trauma-Informed & Patient Centered Practices,” taking place on Thursday, August 13, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST at Elkhart Health & Aquatic Center in Elkhart, IN

Trauma experienced before, during, or after pregnancy can have lasting effects on birthing parents, partners, infants, and families. The way healthcare professionals respond can profoundly shape a family’s experience and improve outcomes.

Whether you are a behavioral health professional, medical provider, educator, community advocate, or student, you’ll leave with new knowledge, meaningful connections, and practical tools to better support families during one of life’s most vulnerable seasons.
