April 2025 – Mental Health Volunteer Highlight

MHAM April 2025 Volunteer Highlight

We are pleased to announce

BAYLEY MORSE, LCSW

as the Mental Health Awareness of Michiana (MHAM)

Volunteer Highlight for April!

MHAM’s volunteer highlight for April – Bayley Morse is a volunteer clinician with the Pro Bono Counseling Project (PBCP).

MHAM Executive Director Lisa Kelly on the importance of the PBCP within Michiana:

“We are delighted to highlight Bayley’s contributions to the Pro Bono Counseling Project. We are so fortunate to have dedicated clinical volunteers, like Bayley, making an impact in the community.”

The goal of the PBCP is to increase access to mental health counseling for individuals, couples or families who do not have insurance or are otherwise unable to afford mental health counseling. This is a short-term arrangement (up to 12 sessions with a 3-6 month period) at no cost to the client.

Bayley tells us what she enjoys about her work with MHAM:

“I love bringing mental health services to people who might not be able to access them and meeting other like-minded clinicians who also value giving back to the community; I firmly believe that anyone who wants to heal should have access to the services and support they need regardless of their circumstances. Thanks so much for all you do for the community and allowing me to be a part of it!”

Did you know? To tackle the growing demand for trained clinicians, MHAM (an affiliate of Mental Health America) launched the Maternal Mental Health Fellowship, supported by the Valinhos Family Foundation. This comprehensive training program is designed for master’s-level interns and early-career social work and counseling professionals.

Fellows receive extensive training, clinical experience, and weekly supervision to develop specialized skills in treating pregnant and postpartum women. The program also connects fellows with MHAM’s Pro Bono Counseling Project, which provides short-term counseling to community members facing financial and systemic barriers to care.
