April 2024, Volunteer of the Month

April 2024

We are pleased to announce

Jennifer Grubbs, LCSW

as the Mental Health Awareness of Michiana (MHAM)

Volunteer of the Month!

MHAM’s volunteer of the month, Jennifer Grubbs, LCSW, has been volunteering with the Pro Bono Counseling Project since September 2023!

As she was starting out in her own private practice, Pruned to Grow Counseling Services LLC,  she wanted to meet other clinicians in the area and connect with clients who have limited access to resources.

When asked why the PBCP has been impactful to her, she stated, “I believe in the reap what you sow concept, so I knew that by building a practice on giving, I would be able to grow as a valuable resource in our area. I have been able to meet and reconnect with some wonderful clinicians, gain a lot of useful knowledge through the education opportunities offered, and I have been able to give back to our community in a small way. As a practice that incorporates Christian faith into the mental health space, generosity is a core value that I hold. I want everyone I work with to know and feel valued. I consider it an honor and privilege to be able to share my time with those who access the resources from the PBCP.”

Jennifer says, “Definitely join! Not only will you gain personally from the education and connection opportunities, but you will also contribute to decreasing the barrier to mental health services, creating more joy in yourself and for others in our community!”

“Jennifer is relatively new to the PBCP but has embraced it fully.  She is eager to take new clients and actively participates in related MHAM and PBCP events.  It is inspiring to see someone who is relatively new to private practice and feels that serving those who experience barriers to accessing care is an important part of her practice.” – Linda Raven, Pro Bono Counseling Project Coordinator
