April 2022, Volunteer of the Month

We are pleased to announce Rachel Ford, LCSW is the MHAM Volunteer of the Month!

Rachel is a volunteer clinician with MHAM’s Pro Bono Counseling Project (PBCP). The PBCP connects individuals, couples, and families who are uninsured, underinsured, and unable to afford the cost of mental health treatment with a volunteer, licensed, and insured mental health clinician. Volunteer clinicians provide short term counseling at no cost to the client.
Rachel enjoys volunteering her time to help others through the PBCP. “I enjoy working with people who may not have the time or resources to find healing on their own.”

Rachel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received her Master’s in Social Work from Aurora University in Illinois. She currently works for Meridian Health Services. She has over nine years of clinical experience. She specialized in treating substance use and co-occurring disorders early in her career. She is trained in EMDR and utilizes it on a regular basis. Her main focus now is trauma- based therapy.
Rachel has spent most of her life in South Bend. She has two pit bulls who keep her on her toes. She enjoys refinishing furniture, home improvement projects, and game nights with family and friends.

Thank you, Rachel, for your commitment to improving access to mental health care!
