2026 MHAM Cake Festival: Cake in the Park
Support mental health in Michiana—one slice at a time!
Mental Health Awareness of Michiana (MHAM) invites you to an afternoon of sweetness, community, and purpose at our 2nd annual Cake in the Park fundraiser in Howard Park, South Bend, IN! This exciting event blends the delicious joy of cake with a meaningful mission – to increase visibility and support for mental health across Michiana.
What is Cake in the Park?
Part community celebration, part bake-off, and 100% scrumptious, Cake in the Park is a FUNdraiser not to be missed! Participants bring their most beloved cakes – homemade or bakery-crafted – and attendees get to sample, vote, and enjoy them in a festival atmosphere on Sunday, April 26th at Howard Park Event Center.
Whether you’re a professional pastry chef or a home baker with a secret family recipe, there’s a place for your cake at the table.
DATE: Sunday, April 26, 2026
TIME: 2-4 p.m. (cake drop-off 1:30)
LOCATION: Howard Park Event Center, South Bend, IN

How It Works
- Bakers (both home and professional) register in advance and bring their cakes to Howard Park at 1:30 p.m. on the day of the event.
- Cakes are beautifully displayed, with photos taken for fun and future bragging rights!
- When the doors open at 2:00 p.m., ticketed guests will have the opportunity to admire all the cakes and participate in a “people’s choice” award for “most attractive cakes”.
- Guests receive a plate for sampling and a pastry box to take home some of the festival’s finest slices.
Participants get to enjoy cake tastings and take-home treats, all while supporting MHAM’s mission of eliminating stigma and removing barriers to mental health care.
