MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
MHAM celebrates its 7th year anniversary this month. We officially became a 501c3 non profit organization in March of 2018. I am very proud of how we have grown over the years while remaining true to our mission to encourage and facilitate people who are struggling with their mental health get the help they need and deserve, especially those who have been historically marginalized. MHAM has been fortunate to build a great team and programs over the past seven years.
We have partnered with hundreds of individuals and organizations over the 7 years to create an organization that is having an impact. Our Asesoramiento Gratuito, launched in 2021, surpassed a milestone in 2024 of having provided over 1,000 free counseling sessions to the Michiana community. Our annual Summits in Elkhart and South Bend and Family Fun Fair in Howard Park continue to grow every year.
Community mental health literacy classes, maternal mental health content, and mental health workforce development have become an integral part of our programming. We continue to develop new initiatives reaching broader audiences with the launch of our inaugural “Journey of the Mind” art exhibit in 2025.
MHAM has always reflected the collective impact that comes from collaboration. We all have a lot to be proud of since so many have contributed time and expertise as part of our journey.
In honor of our anniversary month, we are excited to announce a special fundraising challenge. All financial gifts received before March 30, 2025 will be matched up to $5,000 (total) by an anonymous donor. This doubles the value of your gift! Please help us capitalize on this unique opportunity and sustain our remarkable growth.
With sincere gratitude for all the community’s support over the past seven years,
Lisa Kelly
Executive Director
