This month, Mental Health Awareness of Michiana would like to thank those who helped us visualize and bring to life our first-ever mental health art exhibit – ‘Journey of the Mind Through Visual Artis<\/span>tic Expression’<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This event – possible with the stewardship of Pam Blair<\/strong>, Sue Elfin<\/strong>, Kristina Fuller<\/strong>, Lisa Kelly<\/strong>, Jan Marable<\/strong>, Kamika Perry<\/strong>, and Jennifer Sweazy<\/strong> – sought to bring together artists of all ages and skill levels throughout Michiana, to explore themes of mental health, mental struggles, and recovery through art.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n
\u201cWe are incredibly fortunate these five local artists volunteered their time and expertise,” <\/span><\/span><\/em>said Lisa Kelly, MHAM Executive Director.<\/span> “The call for submissions, vetting the pieces and curating the exhibit all were made easier because of their contributions. They are a fantastic team.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
With a total of 17 artists and 36 final submissions, and a special VIP Early Access event to meet the artists, ‘Journey’<\/strong><\/span> was an event months in the making.<\/span><\/div>\n

“Volunteers are essential to the success of events,”<\/span><\/em> said Jan Marable, MHAM Education & Events Coordinator. “Their contributions provide the necessary manpower and a variety of skills, ensuring that every aspect is executed effectively.”<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
